Feijoada
Feijoada, the national dish of Brazil, is a peasant, comfort stew of black beans and meat. Its name comes from “feijão”, the Portuguese word for beans. This dish was influenced by two early settlers in Brazil: Portuguese colonists and African slaves.
Moqueca
Moqueca is the dish that most represents Brazilian cuisine as it is an amalgam of Native Indian, African and Portuguese influences. The dish is also called muqueca or mu’kaka from an Angolan dialect, or pokeka in the Tupi Native dialect.
Pastéis
Most countries have a version of a savory pastry, and in Brazil they call it a pastel. Normally deep fried, our healthier version of the Brazilian pastel is baked, using flaky, puff pastry dough.

Discover Brazil
BRAZIL, the largest country in South America and the fifth largest in the world, is known for its diverse landscapes—from the Amazon rainforest to golden beaches and bustling cities. It occupies nearly half the continent and shares borders with every South American country except Chile and Ecuador. A former Portuguese colony, Brazil is the only Portuguese-speaking nation in the Americas, blending European, African, and Indigenous influences into a vibrant cultural mosaic.
