Lomo Saltado

Lomo Saltado is a famous Peruvian stir-fry dish that originated from Chinese immigrants in Peru. Chinese Peruvian fusion cuisine in Peru is known as chifa which comes from the Chinese words “chi fan” meaning “to eat.” Chifa uses Chinese techniques (stir-fry) and ingredients (soy sauce & oyster sauce) and applies them to local ingredients (potatoes, beef loin). Lomo Saltado literally means “jumped loin” – beef tenderloin stir-fried over high flame (“jumped”) with onions and vegetables.

One of the better known Peruvian dishes in the US, Pollo a la Brasa is a roasted / rotisserie chicken packed with Peruvian flavors with influences of the Chinese and Japanese communities. The key to this recipe is the intense flavored green sauce, Aji Verde, that accompanied the roasted chicken.

eat2explore is suitable for ALL ages - designed for ages 5 and up with adult guidance. Family Edition kits are ideal for kids and parents cooking together, while Adult Edition boxes include drink pairings for date nights and group gatherings.

eat2explore includes organic ingredients whenever possible, but organic sourcing is not guaranteed. All spice blends and sauces are carefully sourced and produced to meet quality and safety standards.

Dried spice blends typically last over two years. Sauces are hot-filled and Cornell Food Tech approved, with a shelf life of over one year unopened. Fresh batches are produced monthly.

You can choose individual country boxes or build your own bundle by selecting the specific countries you’d like to explore - all shipped together in one shipment. For our monthly subscription, you’ll receive a new featured country box each month. Country selection is not available with the subscription.
